Comments of Judges (Great Taste Awards 2024):

Stunning looking flowers and leaves still with excellent structure show care in handling, with clean herbal notes. It has an enticing golden colour with excellent clarity and an aroma which is all about the blossom of the sideritis. This is a good example of this type of infusion, with the sweet herbal notes to the fore on the palate.

The dry flowers and leaves are beautiful and colourful. The flower is at optimum stage – ripe for picking. A bright and vibrant, clear and sparkling infusion. We enjoyed the honey notes and sweetness which balances well with the earthy, savoury notes that are typical of this tea. Great authenticity.

Comments of Judges (Great Taste Awards 2024):

The flowers are beautiful – they look freshly picked. Very clever. The tea has a very pretty green-gold colour and a beautiful clean herbal aroma. We are hugely impressed with the clean fresh flavour of this tea, which just sings of the mountain pastures. So often mountain tea is mixed with other ingredients – what a pleasure to have such fresh flowers and leaves infused simply and with such clarity.

This has a wonderful glowing yellow colour. There is a distinct flavour of the Sideritis, which is both woody and scented. There is a clean finish, but we find the flavour rather short-lived.

This lovely golden sunshine yellow infusion is clean and bright. The aroma is quite herby, with some floral notes and earthy tones, and the mouthfeel is incredibly soft and comforting. The flavour reflects the aroma … subtle and reserved, but balanced and delightful.

With its very neat and fresh looking blossoms, the infusion has a comforting aroma and makes a bright and clear-looking tea when brewed. There is a lovely fresh, floral and vegetal tone to the flavour – very well balanced. Moreish and clean, it is a lovely tea.

Comments of Judges (Great Taste Awards 2023):

Beautiful dry ingredients, the flowers are whole and undamaged – really eye catching. Bright liquor with attractive clarity. All the anticipated flavours are true, there are some bright citrussy notes with a herby background. A good example with the true flavour of the Sideritis ,reasonable body, slightly syrupy.

A lovely light hay coloured liquid with beautiful clarity. Very aromatic on the nose and good floral notes from the flowers. We enjoyed the blend of citrus, mint and meadow flavours.

Comments of Judges (Great Taste Awards 2022):

A really pretty spring-like appearance to the flowers in the dish promises a freshness of flavour. The aroma had a gentle citrus background note while the tea quietly brewed with a pale lemon hue and a crystal clear nature.

An attractive leaf and well made. A light subtle floral character, gentle on the palate, there are aromatic notes on the dry herb.

Great Taste Awards 2021 (London, England)

Comments of Judges (Great Taste Awards 2021):

”These are excellent quality, fat-budded blossoms clearly picked at the prime time. They give a crystal clear pale gold liquor and a clean aroma on the nose with attractive hints of olive oil. On the palate, it has the immediately recognisable softly herbal character of sideritis and is both refreshing and uplifting. A good quality example of its type.

These flowers respond to a light squeezing with a gentle citrussy aroma. The infusion is mild, with a cooling mouthfeel, and a slightly citrussy but also sweet finish.

A very attractive and well prepared herb with lovely flower heads. The infusion is clear and shiny. The nose is gentle and not astringent at all – quite mellow. The flavour is clean and crisp with its characteristic astringency on the long finish.”
